Illinois Security Guard Practice Exam

In Illinois, security guards can carry firearms under specific conditions that include having the appropriate training and licensing. A special firearms training license is necessary, which ensures that security personnel are properly trained in the safe handling, usage, and legal implications of carrying a firearm. This regulation serves to enhance public safety by ensuring that those authorized to carry firearms have undergone rigorous training to prevent accidents and misuse.

The requirement for a firearms training license means that not just any individual can carry a firearm while working as a security guard. This structure is integral to the state's efforts to maintain responsible and competent security personnel, safeguarding both the guards and the public they serve.

Other options imply restrictions or scenarios that are not consistent with Illinois law, which mandates that security guards need specific training to carry firearms regardless of their employment status or the geographic location within the state.
